Bottling up the Love with Hoxton Industries

Posted at 14 Jul 2021

Wests is proud of our partnership with Hoxton Industries in South West Sydney and the outcomes we deliver together. Our return and earn program sees drink containers across Wests Venues diverted from landfill and recycled via Hoxton and helps to provide meaningful employment to more than 100 people who face barriers to mainstream employment, including people living with disabilities. This is recycling done right!

Did you know over the past 12 months, this partnership has diverted 206,475 drink containers from landfill toward recycling, provided 577 hours of work to people living with a disability and donated over $20,647.50 toward the mission of helping change people’s lives through employment.

Proud Hoxton employees, and Macarthur locals Eddie Kin, Kristie Karam along with General Manager George Boutros recently popped in to say thanks and chat to us about the partnership and what it means to them.

Furthermore many of our employees are locals and members across all the Wests clubs and have a connection with the staff at the venues and feel at home.   It also provides many hours of work for our people living with disabilities and more importantly teaches them new skills they can apply to other areas of their lives.

  • What’s the best part of working for Hoxton Industries?

The best part of working at Hoxton is that I can help make a difference in the lives of those living with a disability and giving a person with a barrier an opportunity to make it in life.
